Axmouth is only one mile from the historic town of Seaton, which overlooks the sea and is part of 95 miles of Devon/Dorset’s Jurassic Coast

The Harbour is a Grade II Listed building which dates back to the 12th Century. There is a huge stone fireplace in the main bar where the tradition of making a faggot dates back hundreds of years and still happens to this day.

The burning of the ashen faggot takes place every Christmas Eve, when a massive faggot in a hazel twig bundle, some six feet long and three feet wide, fills the pub’s open fire. The faggot burning is accompanied by verses and carol singing.
Coach parties welcome with prior arrangement.
